In my journey as a singer and sound healer, sacred chanting has been one of the most profound tools I’ve encountered. Whether I’m teaching at the Transformational Voice Academy (TVA) or incorporating these chants into my own sound healing practice, they have the ability to transform any space into something sacred, creating an atmosphere of peace, connection, and transcendence.
One chant that’s particularly special to me is called “God of Beauty.” I first learned it years ago when I was part of a group called Dances of Universal Peace—a community that uses movement and music as a form of prayer. This chant is inspired by the Sufi tradition, which has a rich history of using music and poetry as a way to connect with the Divine.
There’s something about the simplicity and power of this chant that continues to resonate with me. It can be sung on its own or performed as a round, and when sung in that form, it has a mesmerizing quality—tricky to master, but incredibly satisfying when all the voices align in harmony. 🌀
In both my teaching and my sound healing work, I’ve found that sacred chants have the power to not only elevate the space but also open up the voice in profound ways. When students and participants sing them, something shifts—they tap into a deeper connection with themselves, their voice, and the energy around them. 🌿
I often share “God of Beauty” with my TVA students because I believe it offers something special. It’s a perfect example of how sacred music can be both simple and deeply transformative.
